Ho, Ho, Ho-Hum

I'm not usually a complainer or whiner.  Contrarily, I try to face life's curve balls with quiet fortitude.  But for the second half of 2012, life has been kicking my butt :^(  And while I'm trying my best to rejoice in the spirit of the holiday season, me thinks it will not be easy this year.  I've been up to my eyeballs in detours and distractions, not of my own creation, each one needing high-priority attention.  The fantasy solution would be to clone myself 20 times; I wish!  Inelegantly put, life sucks.  The boat is really rocking and I'd like to disembark!

My saving grace is optimism; hopefully, it will only be a reasonable matter of time before things get better.  So until then, I find peace in the miniature form, whenever time permits.  Here's a sample of the latest, available at my website...

While the first half of this post is naughty and not so nice, I'd like to devote this half to expressing thanks.  To the readers of this blog, my customers, friends and family, THANK YOU for your support in 2012.  It is because of you that I can look beyond life's pitfalls and truly count my blessings.  Wishing all a joyous holiday season!!

  1. Dear Alison, it's great to read your post and it's a even bigger treat that we get to see your new work.

I am sorry that 2012 or at least the 2nd half hasn't been great. It's good that you are confronting the downs with optimism because hard as it is to believe sometimes, there really is light at the end of the tunnel, often so bright that it is blinding!!! Trust me I know, mine came after 10 years!!! Ho hum-dee-dum!

So I say treat it like you do your minis, have a "kick arse" attitude! heh heh . Pun intended because there's no fun like fun kicking all the bad luck and bad things and bad half of the year in its arse and sent it spinning out of your orbit!

    1. Great to hear from you, Susan :) Have experienced so many unexpected things, one after another. One of life's "tests" - still working on it XD

Hope you know that you're always "here" even though I'm not often in touch...

  2. Alison, I can relate. I haven't had the easiest life, and for the past few years in particular, everything that could possibly go wrong not only did...it all went VERY wrong.

I've long sought solace in miniatures, though I have no talent for making them myself. My dollhouse is a perfect little world of its own - my troubles cease to exist for as long as I work on or admire it.

I'm glad to see you're making minis again (such pretty little cherries!), and hope things get better for you soon.

    1. Thank you, Anna, I hope that everything will work out for the best for you as well. I suppose I'm headed in the right direction. Through everything I've gotten a better grip on what's truly important in life. Looking forward to a better 2013 :)

  3. I think that happens to all of us at one time or another..life just gets in the way and we have to deal with it.

I know it's been happening to me a lot lately and it's very draining but we muddle though..I'm happy to see you working again too

    Chin up

    1. Marisa, you are so right. I'm usually pretty stoic through the rough spots but things got to be quite overwhelming this time. Thanks for the encouragement...you guys are the best ♥
